Drawing on data from the RECOVER Pediatric Observational Cohort, one of the largest national studies of long COVID among children and young adults this JAMA Pediatrics paper found that economic instability, particularly food insecurity and weakened social context, was associated with higher odds of pediatric long COVID. Food security emerged as a protective factor, even amid other financial stressors.
👏 Kudos to Christina Newport Hester, Wilson Pace, John Westfall (Jack), and DARTNet board member Dr. Larry Kleinman for this important contribution. https://lnkd.in/g5aMbUn9
